The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen opened up about her experience touring with rock legends AC/DC, in a cover story published by Kerrang!.

Momsen reflected on what it meant to share the stage with AC/DC as their opening act on a world stadium tour — an opportunity she described as almost unimaginable to her younger self.

“If you’d told the 15-year-old me that I’d end up being in a band that would be opening for AC/DC in stadiums across the world for years, I’d have said, ‘No way is that happening,'” she said.

She went on to speak warmly about the band members themselves, describing them in glowing terms.

“They’re absolutely phenomenal,” Momsen continued. “They’re so kind. They’re so gracious. They’re so down to earth in the best possible way. Getting to watch an AC/DC show after you’ve played your own show, it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Beyond the performances, Momsen also revealed an unexpected personal takeaway from life on the road with the band — one she is keeping partially under wraps.

“I learned to crochet on tour with AC/DC,” she said. “Someone from AC/DC taught me to. They’d kill me if I said who it was. There is the rule that what happens on the road stays on the road, so let’s just go say someone in their camp… we’ll just go with that.”

Momsen confirmed that a member of the AC/DC camp was responsible for the lesson but declined to name the individual, citing the unwritten code of tour life.

The comments came as The Pretty Reckless were wrapping up what had been an extensive run alongside one of rock’s most enduring acts. The partnership between the two bands proved to be far more than a one-off booking. It became a years-long road relationship that left a clear mark on Momsen both professionally and personally.

As reported by Grammy.com, The Pretty Reckless served as a support act on AC/DC’s Power Up Tour. Momsen shared a tour diary as the band prepared for their final few shows on the run, offering a candid look at life behind the scenes of one of rock’s biggest touring productions.

The Power Up Tour itself proved to be a long-running and far-reaching campaign. Ticketmaster listed The Pretty Reckless as a partner act on AC/DC’s Power Up Tour dates extending into 2026, underscoring just how sustained the pairing between the two acts had become across the global stadium circuit.

Life on the road with AC/DC was not without its hazards for Momsen, however. Louder Sound reported that Momsen was bitten by a spider while on tour supporting AC/DC — an incident she described as taking a toll on her physically. “Its venom did a number on my system,” she said, adding yet another chapter to what had already been an eventful stretch on the road.

Despite the occasional rough patch, Momsen’s overall account of the tour paints a picture of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It brought unexpected lessons, lasting memories, and at least one new hobby she is holding onto — along with the secret of who taught it to her.
