Genesis icon Phil Collinsdrummer son Nic has been dipping his toes into other ventures apart from working with his father’s band. Lucky for those who were impressed by Nic’s drumming during his time with Genesis’ recent tour, the musician announced that he is ready to work outside of his father’s band.

“What’s good, everyone?” Nic Collins initially asked in the caption of his recent Instagram post. The drummer later announced to his followers that he was open to working as a session drummer. “[I] just wanted to say that I’m now available for remote session work. If you want me to play on your tracks, hit me up.”

Nic Collins’ career with Genesis started when the band hit the road in September 2021 for their Last Domino Tour. Nic took over his father’s duty as a drummer because of Phil Collins’ health issues that prevented him from playing drums. Though it was a bittersweet experience for his father, Nic’s performance with Genesis gained significant recognition as their audience and other artists praised his drumming.

However, Genesis’ tour ended when the band performed their final concert on March 26 in London. Since then, Collins has had time on his hands to focus on other projects. Hence, the drummer announced in September that he would play drums for Mike and the Mechanics throughout the band’s ‘Refueled!’ tour via a post on his IG account.

The young musician had previously admitted that rock music was easy to pick up for him, while he considered heavy metal and jazz terrifying. Thus, his fans will most likely hear rock music from him in the future. As for his recent announcement, Nic wanted anybody who wanted to work with him as a session musician to reach out to him via his email address. So, Collins’s fanbase could soon see various projects with different artists.
