In a recent interview, Nita Strauss discussed whether or not she surprised Alice Cooper by teaming up with pop singer Demi Lovato. During the chat, the guitarist was asked about rumors that suggested they ‘broke up’ when she left for Lovato. Right after the question, she called the situation ‘unique’ and addressed the blindsiding matter with the following response:

“Myself and the Alice camp, myself and the Demi camp, myself and my solo band, we all had a really good understanding of everything that was going on the whole time. Nobody was surprised in any way, shape, or form; nobody was blindsided. Conversations were held every step of the way. Everything was very amiable totally 100% of the time across the board.”

Strauss then told whether she was excited to be performing with the pop singer and added:

“I was just texting with Demi later yesterday, we’re going to be working on some new stuff together, hopefully in the near future. Definitely looking forward to getting back on stage with her. I actually just played with her in New Jersey at The Stone Pony… last week? I don’t even know what day it is, but just within the last week. Well, today is Friday, but other than today, I don’t have yesterday’s date sheet anymore.”

The guitarist disclosed whether or not there is any drama involved. She said:

“So I’ll be working with Demi again in the future, I’m sure. I’ve got some Alice Cooper tours coming up later in the year. Of course, the ‘Road’ record is coming up in August. Everybody’s pals, Alice and Demi actually got together and did some writing together just a few months ago, so worlds have collided, it’s all love, no drama.”

Strauss was a member of Alice Cooper’s band for eight years before starting to perform with Lovato last year. She clarified that it wasn’t goodbye to Alice Cooper but an attempt to try something different. According to Strauss, Cooper was very supportive of her decision.

After a year without Cooper, she’s now back on track with the rocker and has been touring with both him and Lovato since.
