Machine Gun Kelly has shared an update on his physical condition following a painful stage dive accident, in a statement posted on Instagram.

The artist addressed his fans after he somersaulted off a roof and crash-landed into a crowd during the after party of his performance at the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut, as part of his Lost Americana tour. He opened up about the extent of his injuries and what fans can expect at upcoming shows.

“I messed my back up really, really bad. I’m having trouble even just standing or picking things up. I can’t even stand up without using my arms and my upper body strength to help support my back,” Machine Gun Kelly said.

Despite the severity of the injury, he made clear that he has no intention of canceling any performances.

“If I’m moving funky at any of these upcoming shows, I don’t want you to think I’m not giving it my all. I’m just really, really f*cking hurt, dude. Like, it hurts to breathe. But I’m gonna mentally heal,” he continued.

He went on to express confidence in his own resilience and his commitment to the tour.

“I know this is a big mental game, and I know that my body is pretty indestructible. So I just gotta … and nothing’s more important than the show going on. I don’t cancel anything,” he added.

The incident occurred during the after party of his Hartford show. Fans can expect the Lost Americana tour to continue as scheduled despite his condition.

The accident has since drawn widespread attention, shedding light on the physical risks performers take in pursuit of high-energy stage moments. As captured in a video circulating on YouTube, the injury occurred on June 6, 2026, when Machine Gun Kelly hosted an after party following his Hartford show. The crowd failed to properly catch him during the dive, leaving him to absorb the full impact of the fall.

Stage dives, while a staple of rock and punk performances, carry significant physical risk for artists when crowds are unprepared or poorly positioned. The fact that Machine Gun Kelly somersaulted off a roof rather than a standard stage platform made the fall considerably more dangerous. This increased the likelihood of serious spinal or muscular trauma.

Despite the alarming nature of the incident, the artist has chosen to push through the pain rather than step back from his touring commitments. His refusal to cancel shows reflects a long-standing ethos in rock culture, where performing through injury is often seen as a mark of dedication to fans and the craft.

The Lost Americana tour brought Machine Gun Kelly to the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford as part of a broader string of dates. His latest statement suggests that momentum will not be slowing down regardless of his physical state.

Fans attending upcoming shows have been urged by the artist himself to keep his condition in mind if his movement appears restricted on stage. Machine Gun Kelly remains confident in his mental fortitude and physical resilience. The coming weeks will be a true test of both as he continues performing with what he described as an injury that makes it hurt simply to breathe.
