Lisa Marie Presley’s Cause Of Death Is Finally Revealed

Elvis Presley’s only daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death has been revealed. Presley passed away in January after suffering from cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported that the singer died from complications of small bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed after bariatric surgery. The report said:

“The obstruction was in the form of a strangulated small bowel caused by adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery years ago. This is a known long-term complication of this type of surgery.”

The singer’s surgery turned out to be a weight loss surgery she had undergone several years ago, and according to the Mayo Clinic, this is often the case when other weight loss methods have failed or if a person has a severe medical condition.

On January 13, Presley suffered cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas and died at 54, hours after being hospitalized. According to the reports, Presley was feeling ill and complained of abdominal pain that morning; her ex-husband took her children to school that morning, and he found Presley in cardiac arrest when he returned.

She was buried at Graceland, where she lived with Elvis as a child, and next to her son Benjamin Keough, who took his own life in 2020 at 27.

After the singer’s death, her mother, Priscilla Presley, filed a lawsuit against the will’s legality, claiming she was unaware of a 2016 revision that had removed her as a trustee supervising Lisa Marie’s inheritance. Instead, the amendment named Benjamin Keough and Riley Keough as co-trustees. With the settlement reached in June, Riley became the sole trustee of the singer’s estate.
