Priscilla Presley Takes Action To Secure Her Place In Lisa Marie’s Trust
It’s been two weeks since Lisa Marie Presley departed from this world, leaving her family and friends heartbroken. Following the tragic news, Lisa’s mother, Priscilla Presley, went to court to take action against an alleged amendment that sought to remove her as Lisa’s trust’s co-trustee.
Elvis Presley’s widow Priscilla revealed that she had found a document that aimed to remove her and Barry Siegel, her former business manager, as co-trustees of Lisa’s Promenade Trust. Promenade Trust has a 15 percent interest in Elvis Presley Enterprises, which controls Elvis’ intellectual property.
Lisa Marie executed a living trust in 1993, and Priscilla says it was restated entirely in January 2010. According to Elvis’ widow, Lisa’s trust appointed her and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees. However, she argues the 2016 document that she found replaced them with Lisa’s daughter Riley Keough and her son Benjamin Keough.
“There are many issues surrounding the authenticity and validity of the purported 2016 amendment,” Priscilla Presley and her lawyer claimed in the filing. These issues argue that the amendment wasn’t delivered to Priscilla, it misspelled her name, it had a signature that wasn’t Lisa’s usual, and the signature page doesn’t include any text of the actual amendment.
According to the amendment, Riley becomes the only trustee of her mother’s trust as Benjamin sadly passed away in 2020 at 27. However, Priscilla seeks the court order to confirm that the purported 2016 amendment is invalid, the restated 2010 trust should be considered valid, and she is a current trustee of Lisa Marie’s trust.
