Kid Rock recently shared his decision to end the boycott against Anheuser-Busch’s Bud Light in an interview with Tucker Carlson. This followed the brand’s team-up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for their Easy Carry Contest, which initially led to a backlash.
Kid Rock previously made the headlines in April when he shot several cases of Bud Light with an assault rifle for a video in response to the social media posts by Mulvaney. Reflecting on this, he said:
“At the end of the day, when you step back and look at it, like, yeah, they deserved a black eye and they got one. They made a mistake. So, do I want to hold their head underwater and drown them because they made a mistake? No, I think they got the message.”
The singer mentioned balancing the ‘crime’ and ‘punishment,’ explaining:
“Hopefully, other companies get it too, but at the end of the day, I don’t think the punishment that they’ve been getting at this point fits the crime. I would like to see us back on board and become bigger because that’s the America that I want to live in. There’s nothing wrong with giving a spanking. You don’t spank them for the rest of their life.”
Rock’s Stance On The Transgender Rights

Last month, Kid Rock claimed that he never encouraged a boycott or cancellation of Bud Light and mentioned supporting trans people’s right to exist. Referring to the video he shared on social media following the rising debates, Rock told Fox News:
“If someone wants to be trans, I didn’t rip that kid. I said, ‘F U guys.’ I didn’t even say boycott or cancel. I said, ‘F U.’ I said, ‘What are you doing, injecting yourself into this conversation, this polarizing social issues?’ I was like, ‘You can be doing so much more positive stuff, just making us laugh and drink beer.'”
The devoted Donald Trump supporter also spoke about coexisting with the transgender and gay communities:
“Be yourself; you’re cool with me, I’m cool with you; that’s how most people are. But as soon as you bring our kids into this, that’s we’re going to bring hatred into it. Leave our frickin’ kids out of it.”
The Singer Supports Forgiveness

Calling himself a ‘conservative’ and a ‘patriot,’ Rock said he rethought the situation since his reaction video from last spring. The singer admitted that an ongoing boycott of Bud Light would ‘ultimately hurt working-class people’ and spoke of the importance of forgiveness:
“As a God-fearing man, as a Christian, I have to believe in forgiveness. They made a mistake, all right. What do you want, hold their head underwater and drown them and kill people’s jobs? I don’t want to do that. But I hope — at the same time, I don’t want to be their biggest cheerleader. I want them to show me something to get me back as a consumer, as a drinker.”
Eight months ago, a video of Kid Rock using an AR-15 shotgun to destroy 12 packs of Bud Light went viral on social media. In a recent event, he reportedly also confronted Anheuser-Busch’s CEO, Brendan Ball Whitworth, on the topic.
According to what he told Fox News, during their meeting at UFC 295, the singer let Whitworth know about his views on transgender issues, repeating that he drew the line when it came to children.
