Recently, Kid Rock spoke to Fox News, addressing the controversy surrounding his criticism of Bud Light’s partnership with transgender actor and comedian Dylan Mulvaney. In the interview that came months after he was captured drinking the company’s beer despite boycotts, the singer explained:
“If someone wants to be trans, I didn’t rip that kid. I said, ‘F U guys.’ I didn’t even say boycott or cancel. I said, ‘F U.’ I said, ‘What are you doing, injecting yourself into this conversation, this polarizing social issues?’ I was like, ‘You can be doing so much more positive stuff, just making us laugh and drink beer.'”
On the broader topic of LGBTQ+ rights, he said:
“Someone wants to dress up like a girl, they want to be transgender or whatever. A lot of people fought and died for them to do that; go for it. We can coexist in public places. You might not be my first dinner invite, you know what I mean? And I’m probably not yours. And if you’re gay, no one cares anymore. We got gay family members, gay friends, gay co-workers. It’s like, cut it out, just be gay! I’m not going to clap louder for you.”
Rock also mentioned where he drew the line on the matter:
“Let me say this to the trans and gay community right now. Be yourself; you’re cool with me, I’m cool with you; that’s how most people are. But as soon as you bring our kids into this, that’s we’re going to bring hatred into it. Leave our frickin’ kids out of it.”
Rock’s Controversial Comment On Bud Light-Mulvaney Partnership

Kid Rock’s first reaction to the Bud Light controversy came shortly after Mulvaney’s partnership announcement started to receive backlash from the conservatives. Despite not having a caption, the timing and the content of the video he shared on social media spoke for itself.
The video showed the singer wearing a ‘MAGA’ written baseball cap and telling the camera he was ‘feeling a little frisky today.’ Then, the singer revealed a small rifle, shooting at three cases of Bud Light by a lake.
After firing, Rock flipped off the camera and said:
“F**k Bud Light. F**k Anheuser-Busch. Have a terrific day.”
The artist received backlash due to the video, while some even criticized the musicians he worked with. Upon the criticism, Dolly Parton talked about working with him on the song ‘Either Or’ for her new album, ‘Rockstar,’ in a chat with Mojo:
“I had already recorded the song with Kid before that whole thing happened. I don’t know if I would have had him on the record had that happened before. Chances are I would have because he did a great job.”
