Paul McCartney recently revealed details about his upcoming solo album “The Boys of Dungeon Lane.” He confirmed that one track will feature a collaboration with fellow Beatle Ringo Starr, as reported by Variety.

The collaboration marks a unique moment for the former Beatles. McCartney explained the recording process and significance of their duet.

“Ringo came over to Andrew’s studio and played a little bit of drums,” McCartney said. “I think Ringo thought that all he had to do was play a little bit of drums, and Andrew would make some marvellous thing out of it.”

McCartney emphasized the special nature of this particular collaboration between the two Beatles.

“It’s a duet,” he continued. “It was really nice, because we’ve never done that. Ringo’s never just taken a duet with one of the Beatles, you know? So, there you go. We had it.”

The track represents the first time Ringo Starr has recorded a duet with just one of his former Beatles bandmates. This makes it a notable addition to McCartney’s upcoming solo album.

This collaboration comes as McCartney prepares to release his 18th solo studio album. The album represents his first solo effort in over five years. Paul McCartney’s official website confirmed that “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” is set for release on May 29, 2026. Pre-orders are already available and the lead single “Days We Left Behind” is currently out.

The album features rare personal memories and new love songs. It was recorded over five years in Los Angeles and Sussex without label pressure. Spotify’s pre-release page indicated that the album showcases McCartney’s continued creative evolution as a solo artist. Tracklist previews are already generating excitement among fans.

The recording process for “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” echoes McCartney’s approach to his 1970 debut solo album. The musician played most instruments himself. McCartney’s official store noted that the album will be available in multiple formats, including a store-exclusive 180g gatefold vinyl that ships on the release date.

The album announcement was made on March 26, 2026. It includes photography by Mary McCartney. The official album trailer revealed that the project represents a deeply personal collection of songs that blend McCartney’s signature melodic sensibilities with contemporary production techniques. This makes the Ringo Starr collaboration an even more significant addition to this milestone release.
