HarbourView Equity Partners recently announced that it bought a share of Fleetwood Mac’s record royalties, previously owned by the late Christine McVie’s estate, for an undisclosed amount. Also, making a similar deal with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, the company’s founder, Sherrese Clarke Soares, explained:

“We are fortunate and blessed that the estate of Christine McVie and the iconic Pat & Neil chose to partner with our firm. We look forward to welcoming more and diverse repertoire into our catalog. We take a long-term view on these assets and look to be the forever owner, partnering with the artists and estates to cement their legacy.”

McVie passed away in November 2022 due to a stroke. So, Paul Glass and Martin Wyatt – the late singer’s business manager and personal manager – represented her for the recent deal.

McVie And Other Members’ Fleetwood Mac Catalog Deals

Former Fleetwood Mac member took part in many of the band’s songs like ‘Think About Me,’ ‘Hold Me,’ ‘Little Lies,’ ‘You Make Loving Fun,’ ‘Don’t Stop,’ and ‘Songbird’ both as a writer and a singer. Months before her passing, she came to an agreement about the copyright of her 115-song catalog, including these tracks, with Hipgnosis.

McVie’s decision followed her ex-bandmates’ moves on their shares around those years. Lindsey Buckingham also sold 100% of the publishing rights to her music to Merck Mercuriadis’ company in 2021, while Mick Fleetwood made a deal for the rights to fifteen Fleetwood Mac albums with BMG.

Meanwhile, Primary Wave bought most of Stevie Nicks’ catalog, with hits like ‘Dreams,’ ‘Landslide,’ ‘Rhiannon,’ and ‘Edge of Seventeen,’ a few years ago.
