Ministry’s latest release, ‘Hopiumforthemasses,’ revisited the political messages that have existed in their music since the anti-George Bush album trilogy from early 2000s. Al Jourgensen shared insights into the album and his political views in a recent chat with The Guardian.

Remaining on the left side of the politics, the singer revealed:

“My own mother is a Trump supporter, and I’ve stopped talking to her. I’m like, ‘How can you support somebody that would have made us the villains?’”

Jourgensen and his mother are Cuban immigrants. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has been known for his anti-immigrant policies.

His Hate For The Former President

With the upcoming US elections, Jourgensen has been more vocal about his political opinions and his criticism of the current political system, including the influence of money on politics.

In a recent chat with Heavy Consequence, the Ministry vocalist expressed his doubts about the effectiveness of the presidency in bringing about significant change, pointing to the influence of money in politics. Then, referring to Donald Trump, he said:

“Obviously, you know where I’m gonna go and vote this election. I’m completely horrified by Donald Trump and his MAGA followers. Disgusted, I think, is a better word. Frustrated, but does it really make that much of a difference? Like I said, it depends. If there’s money in it for the people that have bought all these politicians, they’ll make sure that as long as they’re making money, that’s all that matters.”
