Pink Floyd guitarist and co-lead vocalist David Gilmour shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing his opinions on the United Kingdom’s current approach to the coronavirus pandemic by sharing an article related to the government’s policy through population immunity.

For those of you who may not know, David Gilmour pretty much focused on his music and spend his time with his family during the coronavirus pandemic. Unlike other musicians, the Pink Floyd icon remained silent when it comes to the restrictions and precautions against the coronavirus outbreak. Rather than criticizing the governments, Gilmour worked on his upcoming projects and promoted his music.

Apparently, David Gilmour changed his mind as he recently shared an article via a post on his official Twitter page with the title ‘Mass infection is not an option: we must do more to protect our young.’ In the article, the United Kingdom’s decision to re-open the nation despite the warnings about the third wave of the outbreak is heavily critised.

Despite not sharing any further comment about the piece, David Gilmour made it pretty clear that he’s against the United Kingdom’s way of handling the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic which is to focus on population immunity and that doesn’t sound reasonable considering the possible damage, especially on the young generation.

After seeing the tweet shared by the Pink Floyd icon himself, many fans replied to his post in order to show their support for the musician’s opinion. According to many, the government is acting immorally by putting the young generation at risk in order to save others while there are other methods to overcome the coronavirus.

A fan shared this tweet:

“We’re currently living with a morally bankrupt government”

Another one supported Gilmour with this tweet:

“Agree. Must do more to eradicate this virus.”
