Yungblud has been pulled from the Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary following a recent onstage meltdown. The singer has since issued a statement addressing his mental health struggles and announced he will be taking time off.
The Cowboys Music Festival shared a message of support for the artist after the announcement was made.
“Our thoughts are with Dom (Yungblud),” the festival said. “We are sending him all our love and support, and wish him nothing but the very best during this time. We want him to know and feel the true love he has here in Canada.”
Yungblud’s management also released a statement explaining the decision to withdraw from the event.
“Reluctantly, we have made the decision as a team to pull Yungblud from The Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary this Sunday,” management said. “We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause, these are not decisions we take lightly. All other scheduled shows will go ahead as planned.”
Yungblud himself addressed fans directly, opening up about where he currently stands.
“I’m currently in a place where I’m working on myself and taking time off at home in the UK,” he said. “I’m taking this extremely seriously and facing head on what’s going on for the good of the long term. I will never take any of this for granted, and I will see you all soon. I love you all.”
The festival was scheduled for Sunday, July 12. All other dates on Yungblud’s tour remain unaffected.
The Calgary cancellation did not come out of nowhere. In the weeks leading up to the announcement, Yungblud had been showing visible signs of strain both on and off the stage.
At his final concert before the festival, he broke into tears mid-performance. The raw moment was captured by fans in attendance and quickly spread online, drawing widespread concern from his fanbase and the wider music community.
The emotional unraveling had been building for some time. Weeks prior, Yungblud used an awards stage to speak openly and without filters about the emotional weight of navigating the music industry. He addressed the ongoing “industry plant” discourse that had been directed at him, turning what could have been a celebratory moment into a candid public reckoning.
Nelly and Steve Aoki have been named as substitutes for Yungblud’s slot at the Cowboys Music Festival, ensuring the event continues as planned for attendees in Calgary.
The situation has prompted an outpouring of support from fans across social media. Many have praised Yungblud for prioritizing his mental health over professional obligations, with the general sentiment being one of understanding and encouragement as he takes time away from the stage.
