Meat Loaf Has Passed Away At 74

It was recently announced that the famous singer and actor Meat Loaf died at the age of 74. The devastated family shared some details about his final moments on the singer’s official Facebook account, and the legendary musician’s friends, family, and colleagues were devastated by the news.

Meat Loaf’s debut studio album entitled ‘Bat Out of Hell,’ released on October 21, 1977, brought great fame and commercial success to both the singer and the composer Jim Steinman. It was based on a futuristic Peter Pan musical named ‘Neverland’ and became one of the best-selling albums of all time after selling more than 40 million copies worldwide. So Loaf and Steinman’s collaboration continued for years.

In addition, after the release of ‘Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell’ and ‘Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose,’ his works started to be known as the ‘Bat Out of Hell’ trilogy, which hit the charts and broke sale records. Along with his successful music career, Loaf was an actor as well who appeared in many movies and TV shows such as ‘Fight Club,’ The Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ ‘Focus,’ ‘Glee,’ and ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics!’

Unfortunately, his family revealed that Meath Loaf passed away on January 20, 2022, surrounded by his family because of an unknown cause, but it’s known that his family had contracted COVID-19 a short time before his death. So, people claimed that this could be the cause of death. Brian May, Cher, Alice Cooper, Adam Lambert, Boy George, and many more musicians and actors mourned Meat Loaf’s early passing through their social media posts.

His family’s post read:

“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda, and close friends. His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including ‘Fight Club,’ ‘Focus,’ ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ and ‘Wayne’s World.’

‘Bat Out of Hell’ remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time. We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls… don’t ever stop rocking!”

One thing is for sure, Meat Loaf will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and fans and his legacy will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace, Meat Loaf.
