Arch Enemy has faced significant backlash from fans following the band’s announcement of a new limited-edition enamel pin tin box set. This announcement came just days after parting ways with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, according to Instagram.

The band’s announcement stated: “Officially licensed ARCH ENEMY enamel pin tin box sets! EXTREMELY LIMITED EDITION! Only 100 numbered copies and then they are gone forever! This is hands down one of the craziest pins ever made!” The timing of the merchandise announcement, however, drew criticism from devoted fans who expressed disappointment over the lineup change.

Fans took to social media to voice their concerns about the band’s priorities and management decisions. One commenter expressed strong disapproval, stating: “Absolutely disgusted by the current situation. Alissa was Arch Enemy’s true war machine.”

Another fan offered more detailed criticism of the band’s direction and touring practices: “Crazy, you wasted both a talented vocalist, lyricist, and a guitarist. No amount of lineup changes will help you, when you do nothing with what you have. The problems on your end, campy music with no progression, and constantly hoping for something new. And this constant touring and your appalling decision to not cancel shows, good luck and good riddance. For the sake of your next vocalist – learn to put bandmates’ health first, and touring second. Stop the endless touring machine.”

A third fan echoed the sentiment about White-Gluz’s impact: “So sad without Alissa. She was the best for Arch Enemy. Even if Angela would be back, it would not be the same anymore. Alissa was a powerhouse.”

The backlash reflects fan concerns about both the band’s creative direction and their approach to member welfare during touring cycles.

The departure marks the end of a significant era for the Swedish melodic death metal band. Ethereal Metal Zine reported that Arch Enemy and Alissa White-Gluz officially parted ways after more than a decade together. The band confirmed the split in a brief but significant announcement. White-Gluz had served as the band’s lead vocalist since 2014, helping to define much of their modern sound during her tenure.

The split followed some health challenges for White-Gluz in 2024 that temporarily affected her ability to perform. Guitar World noted that the band expressed deep gratitude for their shared music and wished her the best. They hinted at a new beginning in 2026, though no replacement vocalist has been named yet.

White-Gluz herself confirmed the departure and revealed her next chapter. The PRP documented her statement: “I am excited to let my solo work stand on its own.” She announced plans to pursue a solo career with new music and surprises planned for 2026, including her first solo single, The Room Where She Died.

The timing of Arch Enemy’s merchandise announcement appears to have intensified fan frustration during this transitional period for the band. With no replacement vocalist announced and White-Gluz moving forward with her solo endeavors, the band faces the challenge of rebuilding its lineup. They must also manage disappointed fans who viewed the vocalist as integral to the band’s identity.
