Eddie Vedder Dismisses A Fan From Pearl Jam Show
As Rock Feed reported, Pearl Jam lead vocalist Eddie Vedder warned a fan who hit another audience and dismissed her from the band’s show during a performance in Zurich, Switzerland.
Pearl Jam has met with the fans by touring the world since the beginning of its career. The group has impressed its audience for years with its successful songs. However, the band experienced difficult times during these shows, for which they went out with great desire.
In 2000, Pearl Jam took the stage for a show in Denmark for the Roskilde Festival along with Oasis and Iron Maiden. The crowd got out of control at this high-demanded show. Nine people were killed, and over twenty were injured due to the crowd crush. That day became such a nightmare for the band members that they even considered disbanding. The group increased the controls after this severe incident.
Recently, during the band’s show in Zurich, Switzerland, Eddie Vedder realized an audience who was hitting another concertgoer on his head as she got frustrated with him filming the entire show. Vedder stopped the show and warned the woman saying they could not accept violent attitudes in their performance. He stated that she could find a solution other than violence and asked her to leave the concert.
Eddie Vedder said after stopping the band:
“Turn the lights on, please. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! I saw the whole thing; I know it was annoying you. You were bummed out because he was filming the whole time. Has it been the whole show or just now? Just now when I came over? Was it the whole time? Yeah, you’re filming everyone.
The thing is, I know it upset you, but you can’t fuckin’ hit him in the back of the head either, even though you’re a woman. I appreciate the fact that you can be strong. Quit hitting him — you’re out of here. Violence is not allowed. I’m sorry, ma’am, there’s no violence allowed. You could’ve waved to me; I was lookin’ right at you. Sorry about that; it’s just not cool; we’re not hittin’ people here. Sorry.”
