Wolfgang Van Halen has ruled out any possibility of recording an album with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. In an interview shared on the Thinking About Guitar podcast, he explained his reasoning.

When asked about the chances of collaborating with his former bandmates, Van Halen made his position clear regarding his current musical direction and priorities.

“Never. It’s not in the cards for me. Mammoth is very much where I’m happy,” Wolfgang said. “I have nothing but appreciation for Van Halen and its history. But when it comes to Mammoth, that’s all I wanna do.”

His statement reflects an unwavering commitment to Mammoth, which has become the sole focus of his creative energy since Van Halen’s touring activities concluded.

Wolfgang’s dedication to Mammoth has never been more evident than with the band’s recent developments. Mammoth released their third studio album, The End, on October 24, 2025, marking another significant milestone in Wolfgang’s solo career, as reported by Rock and Blues Muse. The album was produced by the renowned Michael “Elvis” Baskette and recorded at the legendary 5150 studio, showcasing Wolfgang’s continued commitment to high-quality production standards.

Wolfgang wrote and performed all the music himself, maintaining the hands-on approach that has defined Mammoth since its inception. The music video for “The End” featured cameos by notable artists and was directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero, demonstrating the scale and ambition of the project, as noted by Revolver Magazine.

Mammoth is actively touring throughout 2025 to support The End. The highly anticipated tour includes shows in major cities such as Rancho Mirage, Las Vegas, and Dallas, promising to showcase new material from the latest album alongside earlier works to an ever-growing fanbase, per Mammoth Tour 2025.

Wolfgang has expressed openness to exploring new creative directions. He indicated interest in possibly launching a heavier side project as a future endeavor, potentially exploring different musical roles such as playing drums, according to Blabbermouth. For now, his main focus remains solidifying his identity as a solo musician through Mammoth.
