Rob Zombie On Hanging Out With Alice Cooper: ‘I Fell Asleep’

In a recent interview with AXS TV, Rob Zombie revealed that he fell asleep while hanging out with Alice Cooper. During the chat, the rocker was informed that Cooper had been interviewed a few weeks prior and had mentioned their mutual interest in comedy and horror movies.
The rocker revealed which movie he fell asleep to. He said:
“I love Alice. I’ve known Alice now for I don’t even know how long, at least 25 years, maybe longer. And we’ve only been to the movies together once. We went to see the remake of The Nightmare On Elm Street, and I got to be honest, I fell asleep.”
Zombie then explained how it occurred:
“He probably didn’t even notice. It was while we were on tour, man. I’m f*cking tired; we’re in the theater and comfortable; and the movie was boring.”
The friendship between the two seems to be long-lasting, and Zombie appears to be grateful for it. In a 2014 interview with Blabbermouth, the rocker said the following about touring with his friend:
“Doing a tour with Alice was one of the best tours. ‘Cause usually, you’re on tour with people and they might be your friends, but maybe… they’re just your buddies, but musically, you’re not compatible.
But the best moment of that whole thing was, one night we were playing and Alice was watching the show from the side of the stage, and the lights were dark enough and on him, he was just wearing his leather jacket and he had his shirt on, and he was drinking a Coke which looked like a beer, and it looked like a 20-year-old Alice Cooper watching us, and it was fucking weird, man.”
In the same interview, he also claimed that it was Cooper who ‘invented rock shows’.
Having toured together in the past, the two rockers announced their co-headlining tour dates titled ‘Freaks On Parade‘ which is set to begin on August 24 in Dallas, and roll until September 24 in Phoenix.
