Tico Torres recently addressed circulating rumors about his departure from Bon Jovi. He shared a clarifying statement on Instagram.

The drummer’s statement directly responded to speculation about his retirement from music and the band.

“Hi, everybody. Tico Torres from Bon Jovi here,” he said. “I’m here to dispel a lot of rumors that I’ve read, people calling me up, saying, ‘Did you retire from music, from the band?’ Well, no. I have no idea how this stuff starts.”

Torres emphasized his continued commitment to music and the band.

“Musicians don’t retire, especially me,” he continued. “Me and the boys, Jon [Bon Jovi] and everybody, we’re still making music. I mean, the best we’ve ever been.”

The drummer concluded his message with a direct appeal to fans about misinformation.

“All I can tell you is don’t listen to what you read. It’s most likely bullshit,” he said with a laugh. “See you later.”

Torres’ clarification comes at a time when the band’s future has been subject to increased scrutiny and fan speculation.

Blabbermouth reported that rumors of Torres retiring gained traction earlier this month after the “Bon Jovi Talk” podcast suggested a possible lineup change. The speculation intensified when keyboardist David Bryan referred to himself and Jon Bon Jovi as the only original members remaining in the band. This fueled concerns among fans about the group’s stability.

Torres is currently in his 42nd year with Bon Jovi at 71 years old. He represents the enduring spirit of the legendary rock group. Ultimate Classic Rock noted that fans consider Torres “the heart and soul of the band.” This made the retirement rumors particularly concerning for the Bon Jovi community.

The band has maintained an active presence despite challenges. They released their latest studio album, Forever, in 2024. Brave Words indicated that despite Jon Bon Jovi’s well-documented vocal issues that have limited recent touring, the band has continued with selective live appearances.

The group demonstrated their commitment to fans with a special 17-song set in Nashville in June 2025. This performance was specifically performed for dedicated supporters. It served as evidence of the band’s continued musical collaboration and Torres’ ongoing involvement in their creative process.

This statement comes amid ongoing speculation about the band’s future activities and touring plans.
