Jack Osbourne recently shared a striking coincidence connecting his father Ozzy Osbourne’s passing with that of Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. He revealed the eerie parallel during an appearance on Jamie Kennedy.

The younger Osbourne discussed the unusual timing surrounding both rock legends’ deaths and their personal connection.

“You want to know something crazy? You might know this. So, Lemmy died 17 days after his last gig. My dad died 17 days after his last gig. How wild is that?” Jack Osbourne said.

He went on to describe the deeper bond between the two musicians and another peculiar similarity he discovered.

“They were very close. Like Lemmy and my dad were like kindred spirits and something totally crazy,” he continued. “I was given like Lemmy’s, they released this like notebook of Lemmy’s where it was just like his doodles and some like writing or whatever. Lemmy’s handwriting is almost identical to my dad’s handwriting which is really weird.”

The revelation highlights the close friendship between Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy Kilmister, two iconic figures in heavy metal history. This connection becomes even more poignant when examining the final chapter of Lemmy’s legendary career with Motörhead.

The Rock Revival reported that Motörhead’s final concert took place on December 11, 2015, at Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle, marking the end of their 40th Anniversary Tour. The performance came amid growing concerns about Lemmy’s declining health, including breathing issues and a lung infection that had already forced the cancellation of several U.S. dates earlier that year.

The Berlin show represented the culmination of what Wikipedia described as Motörhead’s final tour before Lemmy’s death on December 28, 2015. The European leg was planned to be followed by a holiday break and additional dates extending into 2016. However, Lemmy’s onstage difficulties during previous performances had already raised red flags among fans and band members alike.

Ultimate Classic Rock noted that the December 11 concert took on historic proportions when Lemmy died just 17 days later, exactly as Jack Osbourne described. The timing creates an eerie parallel between two of metal’s most enduring figures. Both musicians left the stage for the final time within the same narrow window before their deaths.

The coincidence extends beyond mere timing, reflecting the deep spiritual connection that Jack Osbourne recognized between his father and Lemmy. Both musicians represented the raw, uncompromising spirit of heavy metal. Their similar handwriting, as Jack discovered through Lemmy’s notebook, suggests an almost mystical bond between these kindred spirits of rock and roll.
