The Offspring Issues An Apology For A ‘Mistake’ In Recent Vinyl Reissue

3 Min Read

The Offspring recently took to Twitter to apologize to fans for an unintended change in the reissue of their 2008 album ‘Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.’

For some reason, the band’s 15-anniversary reissue has the ‘clean’ versions of the tracks instead of the original ones, and they are not happy about it, as they wrote:

“Any fan of The Offspring knows that we enjoy cussing on occasion because sometimes there’s just no substitute for a properly placed curse word. So you must understand how we were completely f-cking horrified to find out that the 15th-anniversary reissue vinyl release of ‘Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace’ had the ‘clean’ versions of ‘You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid,’ ‘Nothingtown’ and ‘Stuff Is Messed Up’ on it. We have no idea how this sh-t happened; we didn’t even know there was a clean version!”

Assuring fans that they are working to fix the problem, The Offspring went on:

“We and Roundhill are working to fix this bullsh-t ASAP. We will let you all know how and when this will be remedied but rest assured, goddamnit, that it will be f-ckin’ fixed! Thank you all for your patience, and please accept our deepest f-cking apologies.”

Following the announcement, fans weighed in on the matter by commenting on how a ‘clean’ version of an Offspring song would work. One Twitter user wrote:

“I’m kinda intrigued to know what the clean version of ‘Dance Fucker Dance’ is?”

Another fan questioned:

“I want to listen to it to understand how different the clean version is. But I also want to send it back. What should I do?”

Currently, the reissue is still available on the band’s website. The set, which went on sale on June 16, comes with a black vinyl LP of the album and a 7″ translucent red vinyl featuring live versions of ‘You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid’ and ‘Hammerhead’ from their Helfest 2022 performance.

Meanwhile, The Offspring is getting ready for an upcoming tour with bands Simple Plan and Sum 41. The tour, which is set to begin on August 1, will consist of 24 shows and wrap up on September 3.
