Doug Aldrich, guitarist of The Dead Daisies, shared an encouraging update about his cancer recovery in a recent interview with Dr. Music.

“I feel great. I’m doing really good. It’s taking me time. I’m still getting there, because in certain situations, when they’re working on your neck, you can’t eat very good,” Aldrich said. “And then, getting radiation, you’re not hungry, really. They’re frying your neck every day, and eventually, you lose your taste, and you can’t swallow so good. And so you lose weight. So, I’m working on bulking back up a little bit. But, fortunately, my neck healed.”

“Obviously, since cancer, I’ve been a hundred percent trying to be better — not drink and eat cleaner and stuff like that,” he continued. “But the problem is that you lose weight with cancer most of the time, and so you’ve gotta find a way to build that back. So it just takes time. But anyway, I feel great, man. I’m grateful.”

The guitarist currently focuses on regaining weight and strength after his neck cancer treatment. His neck has healed completely.

His resilience through this health challenge mirrors the determination that defined his impressive musical career. Documentation from Last.fm revealed his extensive collaborations with legendary acts like Whitesnake and Dio. These partnerships established him as one of rock’s most versatile guitarists.

Guitar legends Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page shaped his musical foundation early on, as noted in his official biography. This early inspiration drove his later contributions to various successful rock projects.

His pre-Dead Daisies career included notable work with Revolution Saints and Bad Moon Rising. Music publication Icon Vs. Icon highlighted his technical prowess and adaptability in the rock music scene.

The guitarist now channels his dedication toward health and recovery. This commitment reflects the same intensity that has marked his decades-long musical career.
