Warren DeMartini recently discussed his ongoing reunion with RATT bandmate Stephen Pearcy in an interview featured on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk. He shared insights about their collaboration and the chemistry they’ve maintained since their early days together in the 1980s.
DeMartini noted how their stage connection has remained intact throughout their reunion shows. “It’s just been absolutely fabulous. Tonight’s concert at The Sands in Cancún, Mexico is, I think, about our 14th show since M3 Rock Festival in May, and it just gets better and better and tighter and tighter,” he said. “And that telepathy never left, that we had on stage, going back to early ’80s. It’s just revisiting a dream come true.”
When asked about creating new music together, DeMartini revealed that he and Pearcy have already begun discussing the idea in informal moments backstage. “We talk in the weirdest situations. We were waiting to go on stage at Anaheim. The lights are out. We’re backstage, as this fog and the intro tape’s going,” he explained. “And that’s kind of when we start chatting about stuff, waiting for the two minutes to go by. And he’s, like, ‘Hey, let’s think about really getting together and doing some writing next year.’ And I said, I’m, like, ‘I’m ready when you are, bro.'”
The remarks suggest that new RATT material could be in the works. Potential writing sessions are planned for the coming year. This latest update comes as part of a highly successful reunion that has captured the attention of rock fans worldwide.
Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini reunited in 2025 for a series of shows, according to Brave Words. They started with a performance at the Mohegan Sun on April 5th and headlined the M3 Rock Festival on May 4th. This marked their first time playing together in seven years, making the reunion a significant moment for both the band and their dedicated fanbase. The band for these shows included Carlos Cavazo on guitar, Matt Thorr on bass, and Blas Elias on drums, completing the classic RATT lineup that fans had been hoping to see reunited.
The 2025 reunion has proven to be more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Both Pearcy and DeMartini have confirmed that they discussed writing new music together as part of their ongoing collaboration, as reported by Ultimate Classic Rock. In a January 2025 interview, Pearcy stated that the reunion was about the legacy of their music. He and DeMartini were planning to write new material together, signaling a potential creative partnership beyond their live performances.
The momentum from their reunion shows has clearly energized both musicians. DeMartini’s recent comments on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” confirm that the topic of new music came up backstage before a show, as noted by Blabbermouth. Pearcy suggested they should get together and do some writing in 2026. This timeline indicates that fans may have new RATT material to look forward to in the not-too-distant future.
With over a dozen reunion shows completed, the chemistry between Pearcy and DeMartini remains stronger than ever. The prospect of new music represents an exciting chapter for the legendary rock band. The combination of their proven stage telepathy and their expressed readiness to collaborate creatively suggests that RATT’s legacy may be far from over.
