Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler made his first public appearance since his vocal injury, offering an update on his health.

Speaking at his 5th annual Jam for Janie Grammys viewing party, an event benefiting Janie’s Fund—a non-profit organization he founded to support girls who have suffered abuse and neglect—Tyler opened up about his recovery process, saying:

“My throat’s been better, but it is on the mend. And out of all things, I’ve decided to take the advice not from my doctors but from the girls at Janie’s house.”

The Injury That Paused Aerosmith’s Farewell Tour

The vocal injury occurred during an Aerosmith performance in September 2023, leading to the postponement of the remaining shows on their farewell tour. A statement from the band on Instagram highlighted the severity of Tyler’s condition, stating:

“Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care.”

A Promise To Return To The Stage

Despite the setback, Tyler expressed his heartbreak over not being able to perform with Aerosmith and the Black Crowes, assuring fans:

“I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

In a later positive development, photographer Ross Halfin shared new photos of Tyler in October, showing the singer in good spirits, playing guitar, and smiling. Furthermore, a recent video from a party hosted by Sammy Hagar’s son, Aaron, featured Tyler in apparent good health, smiling and engaging with guests, including Hagar himself.
