Stephen Pearcy, the original voice behind Ratt, expressed his dedication to performing the band’s hits during his solo shows in a recent episode of The Hook Rocks! podcast.
Pearcy highlighted his position as the band’s lead singer and main songwriter, emphasizing his commitment to honoring the legacy of Ratt. He stated:
“I go out because I’m the only guy — I’m the singer guy, I write the songs. I have every reason to go out there. I have integrity for the f*cking band I created. So I’m out there having a great time seeing these people. I mean, I’m telling you, the meet-and-greets [at my solo shows] are f*cking nutty. It’s like going to a Halloween party. It is 1984, and I love it. We embrace it.”
Reliving The Glory Days With Fans

Detailing his interactions with the fans of the band, he went on to say:
“It’s, like, f*cking tell me the stories, number one. I see these old photos and just go, ‘Man, explain that to me.’ I just don’t go, ‘Hey, take a picture. All right, thank you. Get the f*ck out of here.’ No, we hang out and talk and sign. You want a tit signed, you want this signed — whatever. And nothing’s changed. These people, they go right into 1984 mode.”
Challenges In Reuniting Ratt

Despite efforts to reunite the original band members for new projects, Pearcy revealed in an interview with This Day In Metal that his attempts have been unsuccessful, explaining:
“I’ve reached out, and I’m pretty much done reaching out, to get the guys together, whether we bring in [ex-Ratt guitarist Carlos] Cavazo again or Michael Schenker, another guitarist. [They’re] still not gonna fill [late Ratt guitarist Robbin] Crosby’s shoes ever, ever, ever, ever, but we can actually go out and do something cool for our fans, and that would be okay. But I’ve tried, and that’s about all I can do.”
The singer’s tenure with Ratt has been marked by internal tensions and legal disputes over the rights to the band’s name. Despite these challenges, he briefly reunited with the band for performances, including an appearance at the Rocklahoma festival and a reunion tour. However, ongoing issues within the group prompted Pearcy to step away, focusing instead on preserving the band’s musical legacy through his work.
