Sammy Hagar recently spoke on Instagram to set the record straight about David Lee Roth’s involvement in the upcoming ‘The Best Of All Worlds’ tour. This came after Roth publicly accepted Hagar’s initial offer to join the tour.
In response to the invite that came a week ago, David Lee Roth announced through the Van Halen News Desk that he was ‘ready to go‘ for the 2024 tour. A fan pointed that out in the comments of a new Instagram video, as the singer wrote:
“He can come out and sing a song on a show or two if he can remember the words.”
Since the video on Instagram showed Hagar signing a tequila bottle in a room filled with them, another fan said they were saving theirs for DLR, as he would ‘need it trying to keep up on stage.’ Hagar replied:
“He ain’t coming out with me again. Maybe, 1 show, a song, or 2, if he remembers the words.”
Roth Is Not Invited To Tour With Hagar Again

While talking about the upcoming tour with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Joe Satriani, Hagar called out to Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth during a chat with the Howard Stern Show, saying they were welcome to join them.
As Roth accepted the invitation, a user told the former Van Halen vocalist that he had ‘a problem’ now. So, the singer explained the nature of his offer by writing:
“He’s not invited on the tour. No f**king way. It was to sing a song with us somewhere like a lot of singers, guitarists, etc., are going to do on this tour. I know better than to have him on tour again. Been there, done that.”
The Two Van Halen Singers’ Previous Tour Didn’t Go Well

Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth last took the stage together during 2002’s ‘Song For Song, The Heavyweight Champs Of Rock And Roll’ tour. But, according to Hagar’s post-tour interview with Guitar World, the two singers had some conflicts during their shows.
Talking about the tour, the singer shared:
“I think it was pretty good, but it could have been a heck of a lot better. Dave’s an unreasonable guy. He’s not a cool guy; he’s not a fun guy. He’s got this persona, this image like he’s Mr. Party — but the guy’s Mr. F**king Uptight! I mean, you can’t even imagine. Boy, I hate to ever say I’m sorry I did something, so I can’t say I’m sorry I did it. But I certainly wouldn’t do it again, let’s put it like that.”
The ‘The Best Of All Worlds’ tour will start on July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Chickenfoot members will play 28 shows before ending the trek on August 31 in St. Louis, Missouri.
