Falling In Reverse singer Ronnie Radke recently addressed accusations from a former prison mate who claims Radke betrayed him. He responded in a statement shared on TikTok.
Jason Sparks prompted the statement with his claims. Sparks alleges Radke was his prison bandmate and accuses him of snitching. This allegedly resulted in Sparks losing $2,000 worth of music equipment.
“How am I just now seeing this? Is your name Jason Sparks? Who are you? For those that don’t know, that guy in the video, I think, is the same guy. I’m not sure. His name’s Jason Sparks. He’s saying that I’ve known him for 20 years, since we were in prison together, and I snitched on him because we made music and we got caught. That’s false,” Radke said.
Radke denied remembering Sparks or the incident. He also raised concerns about Sparks’ behavior toward minors.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, bro. I don’t know what about, about no snitching or anything, dude. I don’t remember you. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but the funny thing is, is the only reason I know that there’s this whole two years of you trying to get my attention, you know why I know now? Is because a minor just DMed me saying that you are DMing minors and being weird and gross,” he continued.
The singer acknowledged remembering some prison details but had no specific recollection of Sparks.
“What are you talking about, brother? I do remember a band room. I do remember, like, instruments. I do remember people, but I don’t remember names, and I definitely don’t remember you. And I’m glad I don’t because, sir, you need to stop DMing minors because some of them are going to come DM me and tell me about it, especially when you’re trying to get my attention for this long. So, if you ever go back to prison, let’s, let’s just hope that nobody knows about this. Okay? Have a wonderful life. Leave me the hell alone. Thank you,” Radke concluded.
This controversy brings renewed attention to Radke’s troubled past and his remarkable transformation since his release from prison.
Rolling Stone reported that Radke served 2.5 years in Nevada’s High Desert State Prison from 2008 to 2010. He pleaded guilty to battery with a deadly weapon in a 2006 stabbing case. During his incarceration, he began writing music that would later become the foundation for Falling In Reverse. He formed the band immediately after his release.
The prison experience proved to be a turning point in Radke’s life and career. TikTok analytics revealed that Sparks has a history of posting viral accusations against celebrities. This includes similar claims against other musicians from his prison days. This pattern suggests that Sparks may be seeking attention or attempting to capitalize on his connection to now-famous inmates.
Radke has achieved significant commercial success with Falling In Reverse since his release. Billboard noted that their 2024 album Popular Monster debuted at No. 1 on the charts. This cemented the band’s position as one of the leading acts in the post-hardcore scene. This success represents a dramatic turnaround from his troubled past.
The current allegations highlight the ongoing challenges that public figures face when dealing with their past. This is particularly true when former associates attempt to leverage those connections for personal gain. Radke’s direct response demonstrates his commitment to addressing false claims. It also shows his dedication to protecting his current reputation and career achievements.
