“In their nearly four decades of domination, New York alternative metal legends PRONG, have remained a respected force in the scene, gigging doggedly around the world—becoming mainstays at seminal festivals like Wacken and Brutal Assault—and unleashing a steady stream of classic albums dominating TV, radio, and streaming throughout their tenure.”

“Today, they announce their incendiary Napalm Records debut and mission statement, Prong, which will be unleashed unto the public on November 6, 2026. Honoring the band’s legacy, this new album packs 11 galvanizing haymakers, encompassing elements of industrial, thrash, alternative rock, and, of course, New York Hardcore.”

Frontman Tommy Victor also spoke about what the record means for the band and why it carries the self-titled name.

“This could be the best PRONG album to date,” Victor said. “It’s definitely the best sounding PRONG album ever, with the incredible Andy Sneap mixing and mastering it! This record represents a new lease on life for PRONG with a new label, a fresh attitude with faster and heavier songs, bigger hooks and top-notch sound quality. That’s why it’s self-titled; it’s a redefining episode for PRONG!”

The PRONG UPRISING Euro Tour 2026 is set to kick off on November 14, following the album’s release.

The announcement arrives at a moment that feels particularly fitting for a band whose influence on heavy music has long outpaced their mainstream recognition. To understand the weight of this new chapter, it helps to look back at where Prong came from — and what they built along the way.

Prong is widely credited as one of the key forces behind the development of groove metal in the late 1980s and early 1990s. By fusing low-end guitar tones with rhythmically driven grooves, the New York trio helped lay the groundwork for a sound that would go on to shape major acts including Pantera and White Zombie.

Their fourth studio album, Cleansing, was released on January 25, 1994, through Epic Records. It remains their most acclaimed work to date and is frequently cited alongside Carved Into Stone as one of the defining metal records of its era. The band recently marked its 31st anniversary — a testament to its enduring legacy within the genre.

Across their career, Prong have released 11 studio albums in total. Among them, Cleansing, Rude Awakening, and Carved Into Stone have consistently ranked as fan favorites. Each represents a distinct phase of the band’s evolution while maintaining the aggressive, groove-driven identity that has defined them from the start.

With the self-titled Prong now on the horizon — mixed and mastered by renowned producer Andy Sneap — the band appears poised to add another landmark record to that catalog. If Victor’s confidence is any indication, this album is not simply a continuation. It is a statement of intent from a band that has no intention of slowing down.
