In a new interview with the Rock Experience with Mike Brunn, Nita Strauss discussed that the Alice Cooper band has ties as close as a family, so no other guitarist than Kane Roberts could have kept it going.

Strauss started his words by explaining the special bond between the members of the band:

“We truly are as close to a family as anybody that’s not related by blood can be, and I think that anybody that’s listening to this will understand that. So that’s just the kind of thing; you can’t replace that. You can’t fake that.”

Then, the guitarist referred to her short-term departure from Alice Cooper’s band and how Kane Roberts was the natural fit to replace her, saying:

“When I stepped back last fall, and the great Kane Roberts came in, I saw some people giving him a hard time too. You could have put Steve Vai in that spot. You could have put the greatest guitarist in the world, and they wouldn’t have had that connection that we do. Like we almost share a brain sometimes.”

Nita also shared her admiration for Roberts’ playing:

“So, I got to see the show with Kane. I personally thought he knocked it out of the park, but I could also be the president of the Kane Roberts fan club. So, [I] can’t say enough good things about the close bond that we all have.”

Last year, Strauss had announced that she would not be a part of Alice Cooper’s fall tour to join Demi Lovato’s touring band to embrace new challenges. Then, Kane Roberts replaced her as Cooper’s new guitarist. After a brief hiatus, Nita returned two months ago and was ready to tour with Cooper. After hitting the stage with the band in April and May in the US dates, Strauss will also join Cooper in his upcoming August shows.
