Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of Kittie’s debut album, ‘Spit,’ and frontwoman Morgan Lander went on Instagram to celebrate it. She also teased something big cooking for later this year.
“Today is the 25th anniversary of the official release of our very first album ‘Spit,’ and January 11, 2000, was a day that we didn’t really think would have such an impact on our lives. Yet here we are, 25 years later, still talking about ‘Spit,’ still reflecting on it, still thinking about it, and still listening,” Lander shared in the video.
She then added, “We have a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipe this year in regards to ‘Spit.’ So, stay tuned.” The singer didn’t give away any details on their plans.
‘Spit’ first hit the shelves via NG Records on November 13, 1999. Not long after, NG Records was taken over by Artemis Records, which stopped the album’s production. The new label re-released ‘Spit’ with new artwork and photographs on January 11, 2000.
The album marked Kittie’s top achievement, receiving a Gold certification from the RIAA. The band made a successful comeback with ‘Fire’ in June 2024, their first release in more than ten years.
For 2025, the group has scheduled a tour. They will kick off in Australia with Jinjer in late February and will be heading to Europe in the summer.
