Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has announced a major milestone in the production of his upcoming solo album. He confirmed that he has finished recording all vocals for the record, which is tentatively due in early 2027 through BMG.
“Finished vocals for the new album today, me and Brendan Duffey Audio, the producer, having a selfie in the vocal booth!” Dickinson said. “Now he’s off to mix it in Florida. Chris Declercq, Dave Moreno, Brendan Duffey Audio, and me saying farewell to the doom room … for now.”
With vocals now wrapped, the project moves into the mixing phase in Florida. The completion of recording marks a significant step forward for one of rock’s most anticipated solo releases.
The album was recorded in just 21 days at Studio 606 in California — the legendary facility owned by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl — with Dickinson’s touring band. The sessions yielded 16 tracks, all recorded live, reflecting a raw and energetic approach to the material. First preview tracks are expected to arrive later in 2026. Dickinson is also planning to shoot four or five music videos around the same time.
One of the album’s most notable elements is a track written by Dickinson’s son, Austin Dickinson. Bruce has described it as one of the record’s most important songs, calling Austin “a pure artist and creator.” The father-son collaboration adds a deeply personal dimension to the project.
The album serves as the follow-up to The Mandrake Project, which was released in March 2024 via BMG. Production on the new record is helmed by Brendan Duffey, who was present in the vocal booth alongside Dickinson for the final recording sessions. An unconfirmed leak has suggested the album may carry the title Vigor Mortis. Neither Dickinson nor BMG has officially confirmed this.
Dickinson confirmed the album is finished and on track for its early 2027 release window. With mixing now underway in Florida and preview material expected before year’s end, the countdown to Dickinson’s next solo chapter is well and truly on.
