In his recent tweet, Journey guitarist Neal Schon smoothly struck back at vocalist Arnel Pineda’s previous ultimatum. Schon made it clear that he’d been there for the band’s fifty-year-long run, stating he’d done more than pay his dues. He also promised everyone he would do whatever it took to carry on Journey’s legacy on Twitter.

So, welcome back to another article where we discuss the seemingly never-ending feuds between the Journey members. If you think the word ‘never-ending’ is a bit exaggerated, let me invite you to check out ‘only’ some of the times when Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain betrayed Steve Perry, then Perry filed for a lawsuit, and more recently, how Neal and Cain themselves were involved in a legal dispute against one another.

However, on a much more recent note, things got heated up between Schon and frontman Arnel Pineda, who reportedly opposed the guitarist’s wish to bring back founding member Gregg Rolie. Since then, Pineda made some statements on Twitter, stating that he’d paid his dues and gave an ultimatum to Neal, daring the guitarist to fire him.

Schon had been quieter about the recent tweets of Pineda, though it seems like he couldn’t help but fire back. The rocker recently shared a picture from a Journey show on Twitter and captioned the tweet stating that he had been committed to Journey for 50 years with no breaks, emphasizing he had paid ‘more’ than his dues while taking an implicit shot at Pineda.

The rocker’s tweet stated the following:

“Celebrating 50 years of total commitment to Journey. I’d say I’ve more than paid my dues. I’ll never give up the right to fight and protect the Journey legacy.”

The photo featured a rather seemingly ‘moody’ Pineda as Schon cheered to the audience, hands up. However, it looks like Schon hasn’t taken Arnel’s ultimate to fire him as, for the time being, the pair continues to perform together and share the stage.
