Fans think Lzzy Hale might be the new Linkin Park singer.
The Halestorm singer recently shared a cover of Linkin Park’s ‘Crawling’ on Instagram and it caught the fans’ attention while Linkin Park reunion news was circulating.
The fact that she shared it after the Linkin Park countdown ended also fueled the rumors. “The timing on this makes me think certain things…” one person wrote.
“Linkin Park singer?” another one added. “Lzzy is there anything you’d like to tell us…..???” one other commenter asked the vocalist.
Linkin Park’s 100-hour countdown just ended, but we still don’t know what the band is planning. After the countdown video finished, it glitched and started counting up from zero.
Right after, the band went on social media and posted that, “It’s only a matter of time…” We don’t know anything else but Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley isn’t part of these plans. He had to clarify it after teasing an announcement at the same time as Linkin Park’s countdown.
The frontman wrote on social media, “I feel the need to dispel some current rumors. It’s been brought to my attention that many people think I could be joining a reuniting band. But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis… or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter.”
Whibley continued, “I have my own ‘tour and book’ announcement that I will now move to the end of the week, ahead of [Sum 41’s farewell] U.S. tour. I do look forward to seeing whatever both these amazing bands do in the future.”
Whibley performed with Linkin Park a few times. Fans thought he might be a good fit, but he announced he wouldn’t be the new singer. Amy Lee is also mentioned as the new Linkin Park singer. In April, Lee said she hadn’t been contacted and wasn’t aware of the rumors.
