Queens of the Stone Age‘s Josh Homme recently took to the band’s official Instagram account to share his collaboration with Nikki Lane on her new album ‘Denim & Diamonds,’ which will be released on September 23.
The alternative-country singer-songwriter Nikki Lane released her latest album in 2017 as her work with Lana Del Rey seems to have kept the musician busy. Besides co-writing and performing with Lana Del Rey, Lane has also worked on her new album ‘Denim & Diamonds’ behind the scenes with Queens of the Stone Age leader Josh Homme.
‘Denim & Diamonds’ will the first music we’ve heard from Josh Homme since his 2021 custody battle with his ex-wife, the Distillers’ Brody Dalle. The frontman of Queens Of Stone Age has been through a lot in the past couple of years, so producing and mixing Nikki Lane’s album has allowed him to get back into music and move on to the next chapter of his life.
Josh Homme stated that producing Nikki Lane’s album has saved his life. He added that those personal lyrics about life, love, and loss had strengthened him to get back up again. Homme praised Lane as a singer-songwriter and an entrepreneur that should be an inspiration to everybody that needs someone to look up to for guidance.
Homme described Lane’s new album ‘Denim & Diamonds’ as independent, reflective of her personality and self-respect. He added that he was grateful that he could be a part of this journey throughout the album-making process and thanked Lane for allowing him to come along. He also shared the album’s release date, which is September 23.
