Ruth Clapton was a social media influencer, but she decided to follow her father’s steps and embark on a music career. Ruth has been covering other artists’ songs for a while, but it seems she believes it’s time to release her own music material. In her recent Instagram post, Clapton updated her followers about her first EP.
“I create fashion/outfit inspo content just for fun right now,” she wrote. “But I’d love for this to become something I earn from. I’m writing and recording my first-ever EP, it’s a labor of love, and it will take as long as it takes until I’m finished, but I’m hoping to self-release at least a single at some point later this year.”
Revealing she is grateful for being able to express herself in music and fashion, Ruth continued, “Music and fashion have always been and always will be my two main passions. So, I consider myself very lucky to be able to express myself in both mediums alongside looking after my beautiful sons.”
Last year in May, Ruth Clapton made it clear that she is determined to carry on Eric Clapton’s legacy. She then excited her fans by saying she started taking guitar lessons but wanted them to lower their expectations. After a while, she created a new IG account solely focused on her music work.
In time, Ruth Clapton shared her first vocal performance: a video of her singing Eva Cassidy’s ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore.’ Although she was initially nervous, this video was followed by many other covers. In June, she announced recording her very first songs with Dan Gautreau to release her first music effort, but it seems like the EP is still a work in progress.
