Former Arch Enemy singer Alissa White-Gluz recently shared an emotional message to celebrate the 13th anniversary of her relationship with boyfriend and Misfits guitarist Paul Caiafa, known professionally as Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, in a post on Instagram.

The heartfelt message expressed gratitude for their years together. It highlighted the support they’ve provided each other through various life experiences.

“My gentle giant. You’re asleep when I’m posting this, but I don’t sleep, and I’m thinking about how you’ve been there for me through some absolutely horrific lows and some amazing highs,” White-Gluz said. “Through the best and worst years of my life.”

She continued to praise her partner’s character and their relationship dynamics.

“Thank you for being the nicest person on Earth. For being kind to animals and setting a positive example. For your patience and dedication to everything you care about,” she continued. “For making sure the almond butter is spread evenly all the way to the edges of my toast.”

The message concluded with hopes for their future together.

“Happy 13 years of rockin’ together. I love you. You’re really the best. I wish I would have been born earlier so I could have spent more years with you already,” she said. “Hopefully our actual best years are yet to come.”

This anniversary celebration highlights the enduring relationship between two prominent figures in the metal music scene. Each has their own distinguished careers in the genre.

White-Gluz has been the powerhouse vocalist for Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy since 2014, when she replaced the band’s previous vocalist. Her dynamic vocal range and commanding stage presence have helped solidify Arch Enemy’s position as one of the leading acts in modern metal music. The Canadian singer has been instrumental in the band’s continued evolution and international success.

Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, whose real name is Paul Caiafa, is best known as the legendary guitarist for the iconic horror punk band The Misfits. His distinctive guitar style and imposing stage presence, characterized by his towering height and horror-themed aesthetic, have made him a recognizable figure in punk and metal circles. Beyond his work with The Misfits, Doyle has maintained an active solo career. He continues to influence the horror punk and metal genres.

The couple’s relationship represents a unique union between two different but complementary aspects of heavy music culture. White-Gluz brings her melodic death metal expertise from the European scene. Doyle contributes his foundational influence from American horror punk, creating a partnership that spans different subgenres and geographical regions of the metal community.

Their 13-year relationship has weathered the challenges that come with careers in the demanding music industry, where extensive touring schedules and creative pressures can strain personal relationships. The longevity of their partnership speaks to their mutual support and understanding of the unique demands of their respective musical careers.
