What If James Hetfield Was Van Halen’s Singer? Listen To ‘Van Hetfield’

There’s no doubt that Metallica fans could not imagine a Metallica without frontman James Hetfield and couldn’t bear to see the iconic frontman in another band. While it actually never happened, thanks to technology it’s always possible to mash up two songs to see how two bands fit together, just like a recent video that blew up the internet in which Mike G. of ‘The Art of Guitar’ paired Van Halen’s iconic song ‘Panama’ with James’ vocals from the track, ‘Enter Sandman.’

As many of you know, Van Halen and Metallica are considered the greatest bands in the world with countless achievements, monumental albums, timeless tracks, and loyal fans. However, it’s not a usual thing to see two legendary bands working together for something other than a tour, 1988’s Monsters of Rock tour for Metallica and Van Halen, or swapping lead vocalists for a change.

Luckily, it’s possible to do pretty much anything in today’s technology from putting one’s voice over another song to create an artificial voice from somebody who has passed away. Recently, a video posted and created by Mike G. of ‘The Art of Guitar on YouTube was pleasantly surprising and went viral on numerous social media platforms.

How Fans’ Reacted To Hearing Hetfield’s Vocals On Van Halen’s ‘Panama’

The reason why that video was so well received by fans is that it’s a perfect mash-up including the instrumental track of Van Halen’s third single released from the sixth studio album 1984, ‘Panama’ and Metallica lead vocalist James Hetfield’s vocals from Metallica’s opening track and lead single from their self-titled fifth album, ‘Enter Sandman.’ While these mash-ups don’t seem to work sometimes, this one actually created wonders since the tone, beat, and harmony fits perfectly, according to fans.

The creator of this remarkable mash-up, Mike G. named his masterpiece ‘Enter Panaman’ and stated that the idea to infuse these two monumental songs came out just when he was listening to ‘Panama.’ Even Mike himself seems to be impressed by his own work as he expressed his excitement over the video.

Here is what Mike said:

“Was rocking out to Panama and this idea just popped into my head so I had to make it real. haha. Can’t believe how well they work together in most sections.”
