In a recent Instagram post, Tony Iommi confirmed a new track with Robbie Williams is coming.
“The worst kept secret in Rock & Roll! It’s a pleasure to be featured on Robbie Williams’s new album and we wish him well with his amazing new movie, ‘Better Man.’ Tony,” the guitarist wrote in the caption of his post, sharing Robbie’s recent interview with NME.
Williams teased to NME a new album with collaborations from Iommi and Glenn Hughes. The singer revealed, “Glenn Hughes [is on the track too]! I wanted to make the album that I’d make if I’d left Take That now, knowing what I know.”
Robbie added, “This particular song [‘Rocket’] encapsulates that perfectly. Unfortunately and fortunately for me, pop songs turned up along the way, too. I’m like: ‘Ah, f*ck – a hit!'”
The song, called ‘Rocket,’ is part of his album linked to his biopic ‘Better Man.’ In the film, he’s shown as a monkey with his own eyes. In another chat, Williams confirmed that Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are featured in his biopic, as reported by Ultimate Classic Rock.
He said, “I think that there’ll be a bit of [Liam] that’s happy that he exists in it. There’s not anything there that isn’t 100 percent factual! That’s how he behaved!
“The people that we were are different people than we are right now. I see Liam and I love his interviews, and I love the person that he is becoming. He’s kindly now and introspective and still marvelously funny – but the edges have been taken off. Same with me: the edges have been taken off,” the rocker noted.
He also shared, “So in the movie, he’s a representation of who he was then and I’m a representation of who I was then. I don’t want him to be upset. I hope he likes it. The guy that plays Noel has only got one line, but that one line is so unbelievably Noel, it’s incredible: ‘F*ck off, c––t!'”
Williams’ Live 25 Tour in Europe starts in May. His first show will be at Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, UK, on May 31.
