Poison drummer Rikki Rockett recently addressed speculation about the band’s touring future. He discussed the possibility of another Poison tour in an interview with Get on the Bus.
Rockett spoke about ongoing conversations with management regarding a potential tour involving all members of the band, including Bret Michaels. When asked, “Is there another Poison tour coming up?” he offered the following response.
“I hope so. I’m ready to do. I think it’s time that Poison does a tour,” Rockett said. “You know, I can’t think of a better reason except we’re all here, you know? We’re all alive. Let’s do this thing. You know what I mean?”
Rockett went on to reveal that discussions about a possible tour are already underway.
“So you know we’ve been in talks through management about it. I think we’ll have a better answer in the next week or two actually,” he continued.
The timeline Rockett laid out, however, arrives at a complicated moment for his frontman. Michaels’ recent solo touring troubles offer a clear reminder of just how uncertain any new Poison plans could be.
Michaels underwent emergency kidney stone surgery this summer. The issue forced him to pause his Live & Amplified solo tour, and he pushed through significant pain at several shows before seeking treatment. He attempted a comeback performance in Sugar Hill, Georgia. Doctors and paramedics determined immediately afterward that he needed further rest, prompting him to cancel the remainder of his 2026 solo dates.
His team confirmed that Michaels “still needs additional rest and recovery” and said he will be “taking the next several months off to heal and get back to 100%.”
Health-related disruptions are not new territory for Michaels. Poison’s last major run together came during 2022’s Stadium Tour alongside Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, a trek widely regarded as a successful outing for the band. That tour was not without its own setbacks. Michaels was hospitalized shortly before Poison’s scheduled Nashville stop that June, forcing the band to cancel the show.
Given that history, Rockett’s optimism about a new tour will likely be tempered by Michaels’ current recovery timeline. With no solo shows scheduled for the coming months, any update on a full Poison reunion tour may hinge as much on Michaels’ health as it does on ongoing management talks.
