Måneskin’s Thomas Raggi recently discussed his approach to creating solo music, addressing concerns about differentiating his sound from his band’s work in an interview with Guitar World.

The guitarist spoke about his new solo record ‘Masquerade,’ which was produced by Tom Morello. He addressed whether he felt pressure to make it sound distinct from Måneskin’s music.

When asked if he worried about making his solo record sound different from Måneskin, Raggi responded candidly about his creative process.

“No, everything came very naturally,” Raggi said. “It was cool to experiment with lots of other artists. But I grew up as a band member, so the approach was the one that I loved – jamming with the guests in this very nice studio and keeping the real sound of the room.”

The musician elaborated on his musical background and recording philosophy.

“When I was super young I took lots of classes with guitar teachers, and I discovered lots of cool bands from the past,” he continued. “So my approach was to be like the best, stay in the same studio and play live. I hope you hear it on the tracks.”

Raggi’s solo venture represents part of a broader creative exploration by Måneskin members. The band continues to evolve individually and collectively.

Guitar World reported that Masquerade features an impressive roster of guest musicians, including Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, The Struts’ Luke Spiller, Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, and Jet’s Nic Cester. The collaboration with Tom Morello stems from their previous work together. 98KUPD noted that Raggi joined Morello onstage in Italy for MC5’s Kick Out the Jams after Morello had guested on Måneskin’s 2023 track Gossip.

The timing of Raggi’s solo debut aligns with a period of individual artistic exploration for all Måneskin members. Broken8 Music confirmed that Masquerade was released on December 5, 2025, following the band’s 2023 album Rush! and solo efforts from both singer Damiano David and bassist Victoria De Angelis.

This wave of solo projects reflects the band’s commitment to creative growth while maintaining their collective identity. 98KUPD revealed that Raggi believes these individual ventures will “help a lot with the creative process for future material.” This suggests that the solo work will ultimately enrich Måneskin’s collaborative output.

The guitarist’s approach to his debut solo album demonstrates his confidence in letting creativity flow naturally. He chose not to force artificial distinctions from his band’s sound. This philosophy appears to have guided both the recording process and his choice of collaborators, creating what promises to be an authentic representation of his musical vision.
