In the most recent episode of Spin Impact, Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone of The Zombies were interviewed. The two talked about the difficulties and the struggle of surviving in music business. Blunstone, mentioning the ‘traumatic’ parts of the business, said:

Music is beautiful and everything about performing is wonderful, but it can get very traumatic when you achieve, perhaps, great success in a very short period of time, and shortly after that you can be forgotten, and a lot of people do struggle.

Formed in 1961, the track ‘She’s Not There’ was the band’s first British and American success in 1964. Two further singles,  ‘Tell Her No’ and ‘Time Of The Season’ were also a success in the years 1965 and 1968. ‘Odessey and Oracle’, their 1968 album, was ranked 100 in Rolling Stone‘s 2012 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and 243 on Rolling Stone‘s 2020 list. In 2019, the Zombies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The band’s latest album ‘Different Game’ came out on 31st March. You can listen to it here.
