Andy Biersack announced ‘The Grinch’ remake on X, but Taylor Momsen isn’t involved.

“Thank god someone is FINALLY gonna release the VHS of the shot-for-shot remake of ‘The Grinch’ I made when I was 9 and forced my family to watch for my birthday,” the singer wrote in the comment under The Funeral Portrait announcement with the date 12/26/24. “It’s either that or a new song. Looking forward to it in either case really.”

Then, in a follow-up post, Biersack shared two photos to prove that he actually has such a video. He said, “Just want to be clear that this is real and not just a dumb nonsense thing I was saying to be silly. A lot of things I say could be classified that way, however this was real and it was god damn f*cking great. Merry Xmas.”

After seeing his post, The Funeral Portrait responded to the rocker, writing, “Sorry, Andy. It’s actually OUR shot-for-shot remake of ‘Cat In The Hat’ we recorded in our practice space in 2022.”

Monsen starred as Cindy Lou Who in ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ while she was seven years old. Still, he’s not in Andy’s version. In an old interview shared on her Instagram stories last year, Momsen talked to SiriusXM’s Podcrushed podcast about her role in ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas.’

The role made it hard for her to make friends in school as the vocalist explained, “First of all, ‘The Grinch’ changed my life in a multitude of ways – one of them being I was made fun of relentlessly. Every time I would start a new school or go somewhere else, I don’t even think the kids knew my name.”

“I was just ‘Grinch girl.’ Not even the character name, just Grinch girl. I got used to it, but it was alienating…Making friends was always challenging for me,” the Pretty Reckless singer stated.

She further recalled, “So as soon as I started to find my little groove in school as a normal kid, ‘Gossip Girl’ came about, and I got uprooted to New York. The band fell apart. We were gonna be huge. It was a real bummer. And I had to kind of restart it all again in New York, which didn’t take me that long.”

Momsen stopped acting after ‘Gossip Girl’ ended in 2012 to focus on music. Since 2009, she has been the lead singer of the Pretty Reckless, who released their latest album, ‘Death By Rock And Roll,’ in 2021.
