The Time Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Slash Admitted That He’s A Fan Of A Katy Perry Song

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash revealed his guilty pleasure pop song during an interview on the red carpet of Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards back in 2012, and apparently, it’s hit song ‘California Gurls’ by Katy Perry for the legendary guitarist.

Katy Perry released ‘California Gurls‘ as the lead single for her third studio album, ‘Teenage Dream’ which was released on May 7, 2010, featuring famous rapper Snoop Dogg. The track was referred to as the ‘summer anthem’ by music critics since it was a worldwide success, peaking at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks, reaching number one in seven other countries.

While it was a hit song pretty much for everybody in that year as well as the following years, rock and roll fans who consider their favorite musicians and band members to not listen to anything but their own genre of music was about to be proven wrong by one of the most iconic guitar players in rock history.

During the red carpet interview of the 2012 Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards, a brilliant interviewer asked rock and metal icons about their guilty pleasure pop songs they cannot help themselves but listening. While all the answers were quite unexpected, the most genuine and surprising answer came from the Guns N’ Roses icon Slash.

The moment when he was asked about his guilty pleasure, the iconic guitarist Slash revealed it’s ‘California Gurls’ by none other than Katy Perry herself. While some fans seem to be quite shocked by this answer, some left comments under the video stating that it sounds just like something Slash would listen to, as a joke.

Here is what Slash said:

“You know what, to be honest, that Katy Perry song, ‘California Gurls.

Here is what a fan commented which received more than 1k likes:
