Slipknot fans have raised concerns about ticket sales for the band’s upcoming Wembley Stadium show in 2027, citing the choice of Marilyn Manson as opener and high prices as possible reasons for weak demand, according to discussions on Reddit.
The band had announced a July 3, 2027 show at Wembley Stadium with Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore, and Hatebreed as special guests. Fans on the social platform shared their views on the ticket sales performance and what they believe is driving lower interest in the show.
One fan claimed the sales numbers were poor. “Wembley is NOT selling out. They have had the worst Wembley sale in 10 years, wild,” the fan wrote.
Another fan offered a more measured perspective on the timeline. “There’s still 9 months until the show. Still plenty of time to sell tickets. May not completely sell out, we’ll see, but I’m sure it will sell well regardless,” they commented.
A third fan pointed to multiple factors affecting ticket sales. “I think a lot of that has to do with the Sid Wilson firing, Opener (Manson) and ticket prices which I know from personal life has turned a lot of people off Slipknot, which I think it stupid to worry over an opener if you don’t like the opener don’t buy his merch or watch his set similar as that,” the fan said.
Cost was a particular barrier for some supporters. “I love Slipknot but not like ‘£1000 trip to London to see Manson’ love Slipknot. Would’ve preferred an arena tour,” another fan wrote.
One fan also referenced broader industry trends. “Slipknot is experiencing the… what is it called again? Blue dot fever? That thing that the media is saying bands/artists are experiencing a lack of concert ticket sales,” they said.
The Wembley show is being marketed as Slipknot’s only European date for 2027.
Slipknot announced their 2027 worldwide tour on September 28, which includes the Wembley Stadium headline show on July 3, 2027 as their only UK date of the year. The band is launching their first-ever stadium tour with shows also scheduled at major venues including Citi Field, Soldier Field, Fenway Park and SoFi Stadium. All shows will feature a brand new set, new staging, and a setlist spanning the band’s career.
The controversy over Marilyn Manson’s inclusion on the bill stems partly from ongoing legal troubles. Manson faces a sexual assault and battery lawsuit involving his former assistant, Ashley Walters, with trial scheduled for November 2027. His appearances on the Slipknot tour will mark some of his biggest shows since sexual assault and abuse allegations emerged against him in 2020. The singer has been embroiled in numerous lawsuits related to those allegations over recent years.
Slipknot also faces criticism following the firing of their original DJ, Sid Wilson, who was with the band for 28 years before his departure on August 14, 2026. Wilson, designated #0 in the band, was a key member as DJ and keyboardist. Some fans believe his exit contributed to reduced interest in the upcoming tour.
The term “blue dot fever” has grown common in 2026 to describe weak ticket sales across high-profile tours. It comes from Ticketmaster seating maps, where unsold tickets appear as blue dots, indicating large sections of venues remain unfilled. Concert cancellations by major artists from Meghan Trainor and Zayn to the Pussycat Dolls have fueled discussion about the phenomenon, which reflects both reduced affordability and the declining power of nostalgia in attracting fans.
Ticket prices have risen sharply since the Covid-19 pandemic. The average price climbed from $96.17 in 2019 to $106.07 in 2022, crossing the $100 mark for the first time. Prices peaked in 2024 at $135.92 and fell 2.4 percent to $132.62 in 2025, but remain significantly higher than in previous years. Industry experts point to this cost as a major reason fans are choosing not to attend shows.
