Frank Bello Joins Satyricon For European Tour After Anthrax Break

Frank Bello will join Satyricon for their European tour following the Anthrax break.

Satyricon shared a group photo with Bello on Instagram and wrote:

“There is smoke in the chimney at the Satyricon HQ every day. Next week we will fire up the engine again, starting at the Sweden Rock and Mystic Festival. From there we go to Hellfest, Tons Of Rock, ARTmania Festival, Grieghallen/Beyond the Gates(two nights in a row), Brutal Assault, Helsinki Metal Festival, Alcatraz Festival, Bloodstock Open Air, and finally Næstved Metal Fest.”

They went on to reveal their upcoming other show dates:

“In November we come to Latin America. As you can imagine, we look immensely forward to seeing all Satyricon Ultras across the world again. If we’re not playing anywhere near you, maybe you will travel to see us, if not we will meet later someday. This is going to be THE summer!”

Anthrax Reunited With Dan Lilker

In late March, Anthrax announced they would temporarily reunite with their original bassist, Dan Lilker, for their South American tour next month. The band mentioned that Bello’s break is for ‘personal reasons.’ They shared this news on their Instagram with the caption:

“Due to personal reasons, Frank will not be able to accompany the band on its upcoming South American tour, set to kick off April 13 at MXMF the Metal Fest. Filling in on those dates, as well as two U.S. festival shows in May, will be Anthrax founding member and original bassist Dan Lilker, marking his first appearance with the band in 40 years. Lilker, who co-wrote and played on Anthrax’s debut album Fistful of Metal, was also a member of Stormtroopers of Death with Charlie Benante and Scott Ian.”

Lilker added:

“I’m really looking forward to jamming with Anthrax again. When we parted ways back in 1984, they told me to stick around because they might need me in 40 years.”

Later, Dan confirmed in an interview with Metal Mayhem ROC that he wouldn’t be replacing Bello permanently in Anthrax. Anthrax will perform in Louder Than Life and Aftershock in September and October. Then, they will start their UK and European tour in November.
