Motionless in White frontman Chris Motionless discussed Slipknot’s invitation to join them as an opener for their upcoming world tour, speaking to Loudwire.
Motionless reflected on the band’s long relationship with Slipknot, starting from their first major opportunity with the band in 2015.
“We’ve been very, very lucky in our career, Slipknot in 2015 brought us out as the opener for a tour,” Chris Motionless said. “Being lifelong fans of the band, they’re one of the most influential bands for Motionless, collectively, amongst all of us. That was a pillar moment for us that we constantly look back to.”
He went on to describe what it means to the band that Slipknot continues to work with them in different ways. “To constantly feel like they keep us around, whether it be Corey [Taylor] singing on one of our songs or now doing these shows with them, it’s really inspiring, it’s motivational. We couldn’t feel more lucky.”
The comments came as Motionless in White was announced as an opener for Slipknot’s upcoming tour dates.
The relationship between the two bands extends back to 2015, when Slipknot first brought Motionless in White along as a special guest on a coast-to-coast tour that ran from July through early September. Beyond touring, Motionless in White collaborated with Slipknot percussionist Shawn Crahan on a music video, and the bands worked together on the track “Playing God,” which features Corey Taylor and was released on May 6, 2026.
Slipknot’s new 2027 stadium tour begins on July 3 at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom and wraps up on September 16 in Bogotá, Colombia. The tour features a rotating lineup of support acts across different dates, with Bring Me the Horizon playing every North American show and a cast of guests including Motionless in White, Lamb of God, Lorna Shore, Loathe, Acid Bath, Polyphia, Kublai Khan TX and Vended appearing at select stops.
For Motionless in White, the continued partnership with Slipknot marks another chapter in a relationship that has already spanned more than a decade. The band has moved from being tour openers to collaborating directly with members of the influential metalcore act, a progression that reflects the respect both groups share.
