The Time Elvis Presley Got His Girlfriend Pregnant While He Was Married

It’s no secret that the King of Rock and Roll had childhood traumas that haunted him for the rest of his life. Elvis Presley had some strict opinions, which derived from his past, especially concerning mothers. Since he worshipped his beloved mother Gladys Presley and put her on a pedestal, Presley considered every mother as something sacred and holy.

His perception of mothers affected his relationships with numerous women as they were afraid to lose the rocker if they had a baby with him. They weren’t exactly wrong since the singer got divorced from the love of his life after having a baby daughter. However, his wife wasn’t the only one who considered abortion during their relationship as his girlfriend at the time got an abortion, fearing she would lose Presley.

Elvis Presley Was Married To The Young Priscilla Beaulieu

Nearly every fan of Elvis Presley knows he had a soft spot for young girls, which sounds incredibly inappropriate now. However, it was somewhat tolerated and highly common among rock stars, who enjoyed being with teenage groupies. Although the musician often lost his interest after spending a few days with them, there was a special one, whom he married, Priscilla Beaulieu.

The two met when Presley was in Friedberg in the military at his house in the town of Bad Nauheim, near Frankfurt. Beaulieu had stunning blue eyes, dark hair, and a petite figure. Their first connection resulted in the musician’s affection despite the big age gap, since Priscilla was ten years younger than Elvis Presley and was only 14.

Regardless of their innocent portrayal in the media, the couple was very intimate from the start. They had a passionate relationship during which Elvis was very fond of Priscilla. Eventually, they got married after a seven-and-a-half-year courtship on May 1, 1967, with a brief ceremony in their suite at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The couple had a child, Lisa Marie Presley, on February 1, 1968, and while this would be good news to many, their relationship actually started to deteriorate. From then on, they became increasingly distant mainly because the rocker wasn’t into mothers, and the couple got divorced on February 23, 1972.

Elvis Impregnated His Girlfriend And She Got An Abortion

Since having a girlfriend while being married to another woman was considered nearly normal back then, much like dating a younger woman, you wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Elvis Presley was having an affair with somebody else. His new love was named Joyce Bova, who worked for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., for many years.

The two met while Bova was on vacation in Las Vegas and Presley was also there. Much like his wife, his girlfriend was also petite, had black hair and a gorgeous face. The other reason why Elvis was attracted to her was that she had a twin sister, whereas Presley’s twin died in childbirth just half an hour before he was born, which is one of the biggest traumas he had in his life.

Since they shared a connection on several levels, they started seeing each other in various cities, including the musician’s famous mansion, Graceland. The affair lasted about three years from 1969 to 1972, during which Bova realized she was pregnant with Presley’s baby, as she revealed in her 1994 memoir, ‘Don’t Ask Forever: My Love Affair With Elvis.’

Although it may seem like a dream come true at first glimpse, it was actually a nightmare for the young woman since Elvis made it perfectly clear during their relationship that he didn’t find mothers sexually attractive, let alone being romantically interested in them. Furthermore, the singer even talked about his wife with his girlfriend and said that Priscilla changed after becoming a mother.

Afraid of losing the King of Rock and Roll, Bova had to choose between her unborn child and the love of her life. Honestly stating that she needed and wanted Elvis more than their baby, his girlfriend kept the baby secret until she got an abortion. Bova had to avoid her boyfriend for weeks after the procedure, which was traumatizing for her.

Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last as well since Joyce Bova ended her affair with Presley not long before the King of Rock and Roll’s divorce from his wife due to his escalating substance abuse. On the bright side, she moved on to marry an engineer and fellow ballroom dancer, Mark Kameo, and spoke with the rocker rarely after their break-up.
