Rush has announced the addition of keyboard player Loren Gold to their upcoming Fifty Something tour, along with new international tour dates for 2027. The announcement was made on Instagram.
The band revealed details about their expanded touring plans and new lineup additions in their official statement.
“Rush 2027 tour dates in South America, UK & Europe. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to celebrate 50 plus years of rush music, their legacy, and honor late bandmate Neil Peart,” the band announced. “Today the band are ecstatic to announce the addition of South America, the United Kingdom and Europe tour dates to the Fifty Something tour, in early 2027. The dates will be the first time the band has played in Europe since 2013 and 17 years since visiting South America.”
The statement also confirmed the touring lineup for the upcoming shows.
“For Fifty Something, Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums,” they continued. “The band announces today, they will also be joined by keyboard player Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey).”
Gold responded to his new role with enthusiasm and humor.
“Well, the secret’s out. Truly honored (and slightly buzzing) to be part of the Rush family,” Gold said. “Thank you, Geddy and Alex, for bringing me into the fold (I promise to behave…mostly). It’s gonna be one hell of a year! Now, back to work before I get into trouble.”
The announcement comes as the band’s Fifty Something tour continues to break records and expand beyond its original scope.
Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the initial 22 North American dates sold out immediately, prompting the band to add more shows. The tour now totals 58 concerts across 24 cities, with over half a million tickets sold for 2026 alone.
The 2027 international expansion represents a significant milestone for the band. Rush’s official website confirmed that these will be the first European performances since 2013 and their first South American shows in 17 years. The band won’t have much of a break between legs, as the 2026 dates end on December 17 in Vancouver. The 2027 concerts start on January 15 in Buenos Aires.
For fans eager to secure tickets, Parade noted that tickets for the new international dates go on sale February 27 at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sales for fan club members start Tuesday. The tour will mark Rush’s return to international stages after more than a decade away from European venues.
The Fifty Something tour serves as both a celebration of the band’s legacy and a tribute to their late drummer Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. With the addition of accomplished musicians like Anika Nilles and Loren Gold, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are ensuring that Rush’s complex musical arrangements will be faithfully represented on stage for what could be their final major touring cycle.
