Now that John Corabi has returned to The Dead Daisies, the vocalist shared with Brave Words his debut with the band back in 2015 with the ‘Revolución’ album that advanced not only their sound but also their audience; he said:
“You know what, honestly, it was weird. I left, and I just needed a breather. The last couple of tours that we did it was just crazy! I don’t know how to word this without sounding arrogant; once I did that first record with The Daisies [Revolución], it just blew up. It went from, just before me, they had been doing large clubs and some festivals. But it was consistent festivals, huge shows, and trips to Europe, Japan, Australia, Israel, and South America. It was just bang, bang, bang. It was really overwhelming.”
Besides needing a breather from the on-the-go lifestyle, Corabi shared with Backstage Pass Rock-News late last year that he had to look out for his voice during that time by saying:
“I said, ‘Man, I have to get off the carousel for a minute here. I was just concerned that, you know, if a guitar player breaks a string, they can change it, they can break a drum head, you can change it if I blow out my voice, I’m kind of f*cked.”
After taking his long break and doing his solo band shows with his son, the singer was ready to get back to the fast past life. The vocalist shared the phone call he received just in time that got him back with The Dead Daisies. He added:
“A couple of months ago, they said, ‘Hey dude, Glenn’s [Hughes] going out to do his solo tour. You want to come back out and do some shows with us?’ I said, ‘Yeah, man, that’d be great!’ I love the band. I always thought that the band was great. We really did some great music together. I just personally needed a little bit of a breather.”
