When Don Henley had doubts about how good Bruce Springsteen was, songwriting-wise, coming across a set of lyrics from the Boss was enough to convince the Eagles drummer that Springsteen was the real deal, and, soon enough, Henley started buying the rocker’s records.
Bruce, after all, didn’t only impress Don but became one of the most celebrated names of his generation, and seeing how he fills up entire arenas and still performs at sold-out shows, it might be safe to say that the rocker has aged well, and our ‘modern’ times seems to enjoy him very much as well.
So, it felt only fair to one country icon to call Springsteen ‘a national treasure’ while they were discussing how much of a talented songwriter he was and drop some appreciating and wholesome comments regarding the rocker’s lengthy career.
It was Tim McGraw, an all-time country hero, who praised Bruce to no almost no extent while chatting with Nashville.com in 2014, appreciating how much of a ‘nice guy‘ the rocker was while remarking his importance as a songwriter, even claiming why the Boss was a once-in-a-generation talent.
Tim stated:
“He’s a great guy. He’s one of the coolest guys I’ve ever been around, and proud to count him as a friend. Musically, he’s an American treasure. I think he’s one of those icons of music that rarely comes along that, you look back through history, and there’s only a handful of ’em.
He’s certainly one of those guys that’s inspired so many people; musically, he’s inspired so many people; songwriting-wise, he’s inspired so many people; and as a person, you know, he’s just a solid guy.”
Overall, Springsteen has had significant success in remaining relevant into the modern days as he didn’t fade away from the spotlight as most of his ‘once celebrated’ peers did. McGraw was aware of that as he praised the rocker, calling him an ‘American treasure’ with a once-in-a-generation sort of talent.
